CUMBERLAND Ernest Alfred "Ernie" Dolly, 72, of Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.Born June 27, 1946, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Irad and Olive (Ash) Dolly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Blaine, Ellis, Leo, Carrol, Presley, and Billy Dolly.Ernie was a graduate of Flintstone High School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. For 19 years he worked at Kelly Springfield. After their doors closed, he went on to work for 10 years at Schmidt's Bakery on Frederick Street, and finally he worked another 10 years for Biederlack. Ernie was a member of Warrior Mountain Sportsman's Club, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, Texas holdem poker, and the penny slots at the casino.Surviving are his daughters, Stacey McIntosh and husband Mike, Cumberland, and Becky Rounds and husband Mike, Mt. Savage; grandchildren, Casey Hardman, Nathan Young and girlfriend Lindsey Yoder, Joshua Young, and Mikey Rounds; step-grandchildren, Lauren Growden and Tanya Palmer; sisters, Retha Twigg, Louisiana, and Eleanor VanMeter, Cumberland; brothers, Nelson Dolly and wife Betsy, Cumberland, and Kenneth Dolly and wife Angelia, Delaware; special sister-in-law, Faye Dolly; and numerous nieces and nephews.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD, on Thursday, April 11, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mark Dill officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by Ft. Cumberland, Post 13 Honor Guard.
