Evelyn Josephine Amato, 91, of Flintstone, MD peacefully passed away December 11, 2023 at the Cumberland Healthcare Center in Cumberland, MD.

She was born in Haywood County, North Carolina on April 16, 1932 to the late Forest and Fannie McClure. In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Francis Amato; her daughters, Diane M. Amato and Katherine Amato-Willard; a brother, Harold A. McClure; and sisters, Rose Lee Sampson, Marie, and Francis.

Josephine enjoyed her career with the family business in the swimming pool industry, it was started in 1930 by her husband's father, which is still operational today with Joseph Amato at the helm. She enjoyed animals and had two horses of her own, gardening, and retirement in the country.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Michael Willard, Thomas Willard, Jennifer Willard, Marius Willard, Lukas Willard, Timothy Willard, Ugne Willard, Anna Willard, and Melissa Willard; and a large extended family and many friends.

Friends and family will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, on Wednesday, December 20 from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m.. A funeral will immediately follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Charlie Riggleman officiating.

In accordance with her wishes she will be buried with her daughter at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Cumberland, MD.
