SHORT GAP, WV – Evelyn Marie Taylor, 79, passed away in her home on November 12, 2023.

Born June 16, 1944, in Cumberland, Evelyn is the daughter of Eva (Glos) Welsh and Harvey Davis.

Evelyn graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1963. She went on to become a housekeeper and owned a trucking business with her husband, John. She spent her time "piddling" around the house, planting flowers, and feeding/watching the birds. She enjoyed bowling and was a part of various bowling leagues for 30+ years. Evelyn had a kind heart and she always made sure her family and friends knew how much she loved them.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; infant son, John; daughter, Debi; and brother, Harvey.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Krystal (Stansberry) Dowling and her husband, Howard; sister, Virginia (McDonald) Baker; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn's family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway SW, Cresaptown, on Friday, December 1, 2023 from noon to 1pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1pm with Pastor Seth Wharton officiating.

Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
