Fern Marie (Brenneman) Myers, 96, of Rawlings, MD, passed away on September 16, 2025 at Mountain City Rehab Center.

Born November 17, 1928, in Bittinger, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Susie (Klotz) Brenneman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 70 years, Herbert R. Myers; son-in-law, Bruce Hinkle; a sister, Olive Krause; brothers, Lawrence (Mary), Harold, Russell (Mary), Homer (Janie), and Elmer Brenneman.

Fern graduated from Grantsville High School with the class of 1944. She then moved to Cumberland and worked at the soda fountain at G.C. Murphy's Dept Store and met her coworker and love of her life, Herbert. They married March 25, 1955 and lived together in Holly Ridge, NC, while Herbert was in the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune. They built a house and settled in Rawlings in 1960, where they raised their daughters.

She was a devout Christian and prayer warrior who loved to read her Bible. Herbert and Fern were members of Graceland Baptist Church. All of her life was devoted to loving and taking care of her family, and all of them always knew there was food ready for them at Fern's Diner.

Fern is survived by her daughters, Brenda Hinkle and Beverly Cessna her husband, Rodney; two grandsons, Jeff Cessna and Kyle Cessna and his wife, Darrah; great-grandson, Philip; nieces; nephews; and her extended family and dear friends whom she loved and was loved by very much.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 20 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD.

A funeral service will follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. which will celebrate the lives of both Fern and Herbert, who passed December 5, 2024, with Pastor Chan Hubbard officiating. The obituary for Herbert Royce Myers can be viewed at www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com/obituaries.

Interment will be private at a later date in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD.
