Frances Loretta (Hauser) Catlett, 90, died Friday, May 13, 2016, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.Born November 12, 1925 in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Christopher and Anastasia (Mullen) Hauser. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay Martin Catlett; one brother, Joseph C. Hauser and wife "Smitty"; three sisters, Ursula B. Clem and husband Adrian, Agnes Regina "Jean" Rice and husband Harold, and Mary Angela "Angie" Cook and husband Lindbergh; and one sister-in-law, Katherine Wolfe and husband Edward.Mrs. Catlett was educated at St. Mary's Elementary School and Fort Hill High School. She was a retired telephone operator of C&P Telephone Co. Frances also worked as a telephone operator at B&O Railroad and Allegany Ballistics Laboratory. She was a member of the Communications Workers of America, lifetime member of Pioneers of America and a member of the Pure Water Committee.Surviving are one daughter, Diane T. (Catlett) Armentrout Broadwater and husband Gary, Hedgesville, WV.; one grandson, Jay Allen Armentrout, Cumberland; step-grandchildren, Jennifer A (Broadwater) Salinas, Nathaniel G Broadwater and wife Angie, and Adel D. (Boradwater) Riker and husband Cameron, all of the Martinsburg WV area; step-great-grandchildren, Hope Salinas, Josiah Salinas, Isaiah Salinas, Faith Salinas, Jordan Salinas, Ezekiel Salinas, Joy Salinas, Jessica Broadwater, Willow Riker and Rocco Riker; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, May 15, 2016, from 7 9 pm.A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 16, 2016 at 1pm at St. Mary's Church, Oldtown Rd, Cumberland, MD.
