Freda Virginia Long, 90, passed away on August 13, 2026 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 30, 1935 in Cumberland, MD to the late Milton F. and Anna C. (Kifer) Welsh. In addition to her parents, Freda is preceded in death by her dear children; Patricia Kessler, Theresa Gillaspie, Edward Twigg and Paul "Rusty" Twigg; and her siblings, Robert Welsh, Leonard Welsh, James Welsh, Kenneth Welsh, Freeman Welsh, Jr., George Welsh, Lenny Welsh, Evelyn Gray, Dorothy George and Betty Ridgeley.

Freda was a homemaker of her own home, who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed babysitting children, cooking, baking, playing shuffle board and camping.

Freda is survived by her loving children, Anna L. Painter and her partner, Ronald Heffner, Donna L. Chambers and her husband, Lenny, William E. Koelker, Jr. and his wife, Kelly and Anthony Koelker and his wife, Kimberly; she is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received on Monday August 17th, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD 21502.
