Frederick John Hill, III, passed away November 24, 2024 in Stuart, FL. Fred to his many friends and Rick to his family, he was a true free spirit and carefree person. He was the life of the party and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He was born September 11, 1954 in Cumberland, MD and was the first born child of the late Frederick J Hill Jr and Charlotte( Shumaker) Hill. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother Joseph Kent Hill. He is survived by his brothers Kevin Hill, Cumberland, MD and Michael Hill (Jennifer), Annapolis, MD. He is also survived by his longtime girlfriend and fiancé Paula LaMarca of Port St Lucie, Fl. In addition, he is survived by four nephews Kevin Hill ( Jocelyn) and children, (Bennett, Summer, Caroline) , Matthew Hill (Tammy)and son Thomas, Alexander Hill, and Nicholas Hill and one niece Katie Hill. Also surviving are his Aunt and Uncle Gerard Wittstadt and Kimmie Wittstadt, and his five cousins Roddy Wittstadt, Mark Wittstadt, Rosemary Padgett, Ann Watson, and John Wittstadt.

Fred was a 1972 graduate of Bishop Walsh HS and attended Allegany College. Fred worked for many years in the insurance industry in Florida as a claims adjuster.

Fred moved to south Florida in the mid 1980's and became a loyal Floridian but always kept Cumberland,MD in his heart and until his health problems of recent years would make sure to always make time for a visit back home to see family and friends

Friends and family will be received to pay final respects from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Scarpelli Funeral Home in Cumberland. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Jim Rose officiating.

Inurnment will be private in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
