LAVALE – Gladys "Jackie" Fletcher, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 15, 2023, at home. Jackie was born on September 7 in her grandmother's house in Cresaptown. She was the daughter of the late Virginia Getson Chappell and was married to the love of her life, Robert H. Fletcher. Bob and Jackie were married for 64 years and had dated since the 7th grade. She was preceded in death her husband, Robert Fletcher, and brother, Charles Getson.

She loved her children! Someone told her that she sure made a career out of being a mother, and she told them, "You may not mean this as a compliment, but I'll take it as one." There was a saying in the Fletcher home, "If Mom ain't happy, nobody's happy." Jack, or "Sister Fletcher" as she was called by many, was known as a great prayer warrior. She would stay up many late hours ministering and praying for her family, church members, and friends. She loved to laugh, and she had a great sense of humor. She was a people person who never met a stranger.

Bob and Jackie pastored the Loch Lynn Church of God for over 32 years and ministered to many other churches for the next 20 years.

She is survived by her son, Robert W. Fletcher and wife, Suzy; daughter, Jody Lohr and husband, Harland; daughter, Louvine Shank; three grandsons, Joshua Fletcher (Lauren), Jesse Fletcher (Lyndsey), and Pap's boy, Daniel Lohr; seven great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Judah, Hannah, Naomi, Jadon, Gabrielle, and Jael.

Bob and Jackie's greatest legacy is that their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are all serving God.

There will be a viewing on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 12-1pm with home going and committal service immediately following at 1pm at the church where she attended and had joined, Good News Assembly of God, LaVale, MD. Her son, Bob Fletcher, will be officiating the service along with Ivan Ackerman.

Interment will be in MD State Veteran's Cemetery, Rocky Gap.
