Cumberland Gregory A. Nelson, 47, of Cumberland passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017.Greg was born in Cumberland, MD, on March 4, 1970 the son of Reba (Garland) Nelson of Cumberland and the late Richard E. Nelson.Greg attended Allegany High School, and he was a resident of Cumberland. He was kind hearted with a loving spirit, and Greg was a friend to anyone he met. He loved dogs, especially his dog, Boozer.In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters, Diane Ammons and husband Ron, Cumberland, and Doris Crawford, Winchester, VA; brother, Larry Nelson, Winchester, VA; special friend, Francine Lambert, Cumberland; nieces, Christina Sibley, Cumberland, and Jennifer Ward and husband Jason, Gainesville, VA; nephew, Kevin Twigg and wife Carole, Cumberland; great nieces, Kira and Corrina; and great nephews, Holden, Rafe, and Reece.At Greg's request, he will be cremated. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. A memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home at 1 P.M. with Pastor Charles Riggleman officiating.The family has requested their friends and members of their family refrain from sending flowers.
