Obituary

Cumberland – Harold L. See, 71, of Cumberland, went to be with his Lord, on Friday, April 26, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Born on January 16, 1953, he was the son of the late Hayes and Clara See. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Sandra J. Murphy and great-grandson, Camden Murphy.

Harold attended Allegany High School, Class of 1971. After high school Harold learned the trade of transmission repair and rebuilding leading to a career in automotive transmission mechanics with the ambition and eventual fruition of being sole proprietor of his own business, American Transmissions, located on McMullen Hwy.

Harold was also a beloved member of Radiant Life Full Gospel Church, Harrison St, Cumberland, since 2022 where he gave his heart and life to the Lord including being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Harold loved to collect trains and train memorabilia especially CSX, Western Md, Lionel and American Flyer. He enjoyed working on automobiles and cutting grass. He was known by his customers as the transmission mechanic that always gave people fair prices and good work. His love for family was second to none. He was an amazing husband to his wife and incredible father to his children. He was not only a father but also a dad. He loved spending time with his children, and especially his grandchildren. We thankfully had the blessing of seeing him enjoy his great-grandchildren which he adored. In 1997 while test driving a car, he was rear-ended in front of his shop that began a very long and difficult battle that led to many hurdles that he courageously endured allowing them to draw him closer to His Lord, heard by his family praying every morning for everyone else's needs.

He was survived by his wife of 36 years, Diane L. See, his son Jordan E. See with fiancé, Heiri Shaw, and his son, Tom Clites, his step-daughter, Michelle White and husband, James White. His grand-children Tabbatha Tallman, Tyler Murphy, Brittany Turner, Levi Harris, Tommy Murphy Jr., TJ Davis, Ashlie Fields, Tasha Hinch and Stephanie Shearer. Great-grandchildren, Skylynn Dicken, Koleton Dicken, JaLeigh Tallman, Taven Tallman, Destinie Fields, Alexis Fields, Aiden Murphy, Regan Turner, Jace Hamilton, Miley Murphy, Andrew Hinch and Makenna Layton.
