Cresaptown – Harold Arthur Stevanus, 83, of Cresaptown, died September 1, 2023, at his home.

Born December 15, 1939 in Cresaptown, MD, he was the son of the late Arthur and Elsie Stevanus. Harold was married to the late Wanda June (Sisk) Stevanus and the late Pauline Shirley (Huffman) Stevanus. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline (Stevanus) Winters.

He is survived by his two children, Cheryl Reecher and Mark Stevanus; his two step-children, Keith Williams and Bret Williams; his sister, Freda (Stevanus) Crowe; his brothers, Fay Stevanus and Ray Stevanus and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He lived in Cresaptown the majority of life and was a 1957 graduate of Allegany High School. He drove a truck for Wilson Welding & Supply, Celanese and Hilltop Fruit Market. He enjoyed restoring antique cars, attending car shows and working in his garage.

Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Friday, September 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Harold McClay Jr. officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Cresaptown Volunteer Fire Department.
