Obituary

CUMBERLAND – Harry Resley Hitchins, 87, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at home. Born on May 7, 1934, in Frostburg, MD, he was the son of the late John Clifton and Edith Robertson Hitchins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clifton Hitchins. Harry was a graduate of Beall High School and Catherman's Business School. He retired from ABL/Alliant Tech with 36 years of employment as a cost analyst. Harry retired from the Navy Reserves with 31 years of service. He enjoyed many years of golfing with his friends, camping and traveling in the RV with family, friends, and the Queen City Travelers. Harry was a wonderful, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family and was always there for them. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Anota Eileen Hitchins; two children, Tina Warnick and fiancé Mike Raley, and Marty Hitchins and wife Stacey; three grandchildren, Shala Logsdon and husband Matt, Shane Warnick and wife Gail, and Justin Warnick and wife Rachael; and five great-grandchildren, Lyllah and Witton Logsdon, Zain, Gracelyn, and Trinity Warnick. At Harry's request, all services will be private. Any donations in Harry's memory may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 14513 McMullen Hwy SW, Cumberland, MD 21502.
