LONACONING – Harry Edward "Bunk" Rosenberger, Sr., 85, of Lonaconing, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Egle Nursing Home. Born May 16, 1935, in Frostburg, he was a son of the late Cecil and Agnes (Walsh) Rosenberger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Dolores (Willison) Rosenberger; second wife, Violet Rosetta (Mayhew) Rosenberger; two sisters, Bonnie Wilhelm, and Jean Diehl; infant sister, Shirley. Bunk proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a truck driver for over 40 years and was known by his CB handle, "Raven." He enjoyed watching boxing and stock car racing, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He could often be found on outings, picnics, and attending his grandchildren's birthday parties. Any excuse to see his family, he took advantage of it. Bunk leaves behind four children, Harry "Bunky" Rosenberger, Jr. and wife, Charlene, Charles Rosenberger, Larry Rosenberger and wife, Lavona, all of Lonaconing, and Betty Smith and significant other, Wayne Mayhew, Barton; step-daughter, Diane Markwood and husband, Virgil, Cumberland; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Charles Rosenberger and wife, Martha, Finzel; sister, Myrna Metzner, Cumberland; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Egle Nursing Home for their compassionate, immaculate care of Bunk during his stay. In accordance with his wishes, Bunk's body will be cremated. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD, on Friday, September 4, 2020, from 10 to 11 a.m. A memorial service will immediately follow with Pastor Shawn Shumaker officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Ft. Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard. Inurnment will be in Johnson Cemetery, Finzel. Condolences may be left at www.ScarpelliFH.com.
