Cumberland Helen Margarette "Margie" Mouse departed this life, surrounded by her family, on February 13, 2019 with a smile on her face and a song in her heart. Born July 17, 1932 in Lonaconing, she was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Elizabeth (Braskey) Powers, infant son, Thomas, husband Francis C. Mouse, and sister Mary Ann Blair Crowe.Margie was fun-loving and always lived for her two sons and their families. She was proud of her grandchildren. Having many friends from all walks of life, she'll be remembered and missed by all who were so privileged to have known her.She began singing at age four; school and church, but her passion was singing bass with the "Ladybirds" Barbershop Chorus (over 30 years) and with "Three Katz and A Mouse" quartet.Margie was an avid reader, the "card-sender" of her family, and a great fudge maker. You hoped you were on her donor list. She worked a variety of jobs; clerical, government, Rosenbaums credit office, and chiropractic assistant to Dr. Jonathan Eckhart. She retired with over 21 years of service from Department of Community Development, City of Cumberland.Surviving are sons; Francis and wife Kim, Cumberland, MD; Timothy and wife Gail, Tampa, FL; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Lyndsay (Mouse) and Coty Gadbury, Jett and Knox Gadbury, Albany, IN; Jessica Mouse, Lubbock, TX; TJ Mouse, Tampa, FL; Lauren Mouse, St. Louis, MO; Rachel Mouse, Cumberland, MD; Sarah Harvey, Myrtle Beach, SC; Sadie Harvey, Cumberland, MD; brother Jim and Patricia Powers, Palm Harbor, FL; special cousin raised as a sister, Mary Elizabeth (Braskey) Smith and family, Frederick, MD; and special niece, Ginny Blair Bennett, Frostburg, MD and many remaining relatives.We would like to extend special thanks to mom's Ladybird friends who were so kind to her. Special thanks to Judy Devore, Johnny Knetzer, Old Towne Manor Staff, Dennis and Margie Boyd for their kindness and assistance, and Vina Miller. The family would like to give special thanks to Drs. A. Ahmed, Maryanne Riley, WMHS staff, and Hospice. Thank you all for your loving care.As per her request, there will be cremations with no service.
