CUMBERLAND Helen Marie Meyers, 87, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Egle Nursing Home in Lonaconing, MD.Born April 26, 1931, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Herbert M. and Laura Blanche (Smith) Erichsen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Harold Eugene Meyers; one brother; and two sisters.Helen attended Fort Hill High School. She went on to work as a bus driver for Friends Aware for 25 years. She touched the lives of the students who rode her bus, and she even befriended their families. It was during this time that she and her husband operated a catering and candy business for which they will be fondly remembered. She also enjoyed spending summers with her husband at their cabin in Springfield, WV.She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Helen enjoyed playing the piano and singing in church.Helen is survived by her children, Susan Eckard and husband Daniel, Canton, OH, Lonnie Meyers, Cumberland, Richard "Dick" Meyers and wife Karen, Flintstone, and Bonnie Shingler and husband Glenn, Westernport; grandchildren, Jody Wildman and husband Mark, EJ Shewbridge, III and wife Becky, Danny Eckard, Kachina Conway, Eric Shingler and wife Jenny, Lonnie E. Meyers, II and wife Sarah, and Michael Meyers and wife Ashley; great-grandchildren, Michaela, Colton, Addison, Liam, Max, and Eden; sister, Christine Brode and husband Bill, Fort Ashby; and numerous nieces and nephews.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold McClay officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be Mark Wildman, EJ Shewbridge, III, Danny Eckard, Eric Shingler, Lonnie E.
