Cumberland Herman Edward Bussard, of Cumberland, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.Born in Cumberland, MD, on October 2, 1928, he was the son of the late Calbert "Buck" and Margaret (Haenftling) Bussard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Elizabeth (Park) Bussard; grandson, Gilbert "Butch" Warnick; granddaughter, Samantha Purbaugh; great-grandson, Noah Kuhn; brothers, John, Theodore, and Walter Bussard; and sisters, Wilda Lisanti, and Dolly Nery.Herman was a member of the Army National Guard. He worked as an equipment operator for the Maryland State Roads Administration, retiring after 38 years of service.He is survived by his daughter, Connie L. Warnick; sons, Samuel C. Bussard and wife Tisa, and Daniel R. Bussard, Sr.; grandchildren, Edward L. Warnick, Heather Warnick and fianc Troy Green, Russell E. "Rusty" Bussard and wife Melinda, Daniel R. Bussard, Jr. and wife Vicki, Scott Bussard, and Tammy L. Miller and husband Darrin; great-grandchildren, T.J., Nikki, Jessi, Lexi, Corbin, Nathan, Katie, Harley and wife Moriah, Dusty, Chase, Lily, Mia, Jacob, Mason, and Emily; and great-great grandson, Sawyer.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Thursday, August 1, 2019, from 4 to 7 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home of Friday, August 2, 2019, at 11 A.M. with Reverend Seth Wharton officiating. Interment will be in Mt.
