CUMBERLAND – Irvin D. Ullery, 81, of Cumberland, went home to be with Jesus, January 16, 2023, at Dawnview Nursing Home.

Born in Cresaptown, MD, on September 24, 1941, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ilda (Shanholtz) Ullery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Ullery; sister, Kaye O'Neal; and granddaughter, Jaqueline Sites.

Irvin graduated from Allegany High School, class of 1959. He retired from the Allegany County Board of Education in 2006.

Irvin was a member of the Wiley Ford Covenant Brethren Church. He presented the Gospel in song with his wife and children (The Ullery Family Gospel Singers), and various other groups, for more than 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughters, Sharon Murphy and husband Russell, Cindy Sites and husband Trent, and Cheryl Zoller and husband Jim; son, Dean Ullery and wife Karen; grandchildren, James Murphy and wife Mary, Scott Murphy, John Murphy and wife Ashley, Jesse Sites and wife Becca, Taylor Smith and girlfriend Madison Epperly, Nicole Hagelin and husband Nathan, Nathan Ullery and wife Melanie, Dustin Ullery and girlfriend Rebecca Booco, and Natasha Burroughs and husband David; step-grandchildren, Jimmy Zoller and Susan Zoller; great-grandchildren, Annaclaire Burford, Aiden and Jessica Hagelin, Karra and Raiden Ullery, Cirina Baez, Levi, Isaiah, and Myla Burroughs; sisters, Wanda Blauch, Faye Twigg, and Darla Copeland and husband Terry; brother-in-law, Bob O'Neal; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Pastors Phillip Matthews and Charlie Winebrenner officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
