James Emory Blubaugh, 81, of Fort Ashby, WV, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones. James was born on March 19, 1942 to the late James & Mary Blubaugh. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two young sisters, Betty and Jean Blubaugh, and a great-grandson, Henry John Emory Sullivan.

For the past 52 years, James has been married to Joan Elaine (Shanski) Blubaugh. He is also survived by 2 daughters, Joyce Conley and husband Jeff of Fort Ashby. WV, and Janet Shafer and husband Mark of Wiley Ford, WV; 6 grandchildren, Alexandra and Jake Sullivan (Fort Hill, PA), Jeffrey and Natalie Conley (Scott Depot, WV), Tyler Conley (United States Army), Ross Henry and Hannah Conley (Bridgewater, VA), Gary Cosner (Cumberland, MD), and Chase Cosner (Wiley Ford, WV); 2 great grandchildren, Addison and Theodore Conley (Bridgewater, VA), a sister, Laura Edna Llewellyn (Grantsville, MD) and 3 nieces.

James was an extraordinary and wonderful man, a beloved and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts until we see him again in Heaven. He taught all of us so much about many things, but no lesson greater than what a great example of God's unconditional love looks like; we are forever grateful for the love he bestowed upon us and the amazing sense of humor he shared with us.

James was a graduate of Beall High School and was retired from the Maryland State Highway Administration. James was also an Assemblies of God minister in Fort Ashby, Springfield, and Wiley Ford, WV.

Visitation will be held at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD, on Saturday, September 16, from 1-2PM, followed immediately by a private funeral service at 2PM.

James and his family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff of the Schwab Family Cancer Center for their amazing care over the past year and eight months. We appreciate your great care, concern, and support very much.

James fought a good fight, finished his race and kept the faith. Well done, good and faithful servant. Welcome Home.
