James "Sonny" Russell Collins Sr., 65, originally of Cumberland, MD passed away on June 23, 2024 at the Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.

He was born in Cumberland on May 5, 1959 to the late Ronald Collins Sr and Mary Smith. In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his sons, James R. Collins Jr. and Timothy W. Collins; and his brother, Donald Collins.

Sonny was not afraid of hard work. He drove a tow truck and for the most part he worked junking and recycling cars. He enjoyed a little gambling and loved to travel and drive.

He is survived by his sons, Brian Collins and partner Jennifer Jones, Adam Ellis and wife Marilynn; a daughter, Julia Collins; his siblings, Grace Atkins, Ronald Collins Jr., Michael Collins, and Michele Collins; many grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and a large extended family and many friends.

In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services.
