CUMBERLAND – Jean Blake, 80, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Peace Healthcare at Lions Center.

Born November 17, 1942, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Regina (Wolfe) and William Twigg.

Jean was a graduate of Catholic Girls Central High School, Class of 1960. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, a member of Martha's Group, a Eucharistic minister, member of the Alhambra Wamba Caravan 89, member and past president of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary Cumberland Council 586, and a member of the Electrical Workers Union Auxiliary.

Jean retired from the Bon Ton Department Store, where she was a department manager, after 28 years of service. She started her retail career as an employee of Eyerly's Department Store.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, William J. Blake; children, Stephen J. Blake, Christopher W. Blake and wife, Crystal, and Kara Blake Pley and husband, Douglas; grandchildren, Caroline Pley, Alexandra Pley, Mariah Blake and husband, Rob Walker, Bailey Weibley and husband, Coleman, Mason Blake, and Teddy Blake; great-granddaughters, Parker Lenore Weibley and Quincy Romaine Weibley.

Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Sunday, February 12, 2023, from 2-5 P.M. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at 4 P.M. with K of C members and K of C Ladies Auxiliary members participating. Visitation will conclude with a Crescent Service by the Alhambra at 4:30 P.M.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, 201 N Centre St, Cumberland, on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 10 A.M. At Jean's request she will be cremated.

Inurnment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Cumberland.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Anthony's Place 300 East Oldtown Road Cumberland, MD 21502.
