LAVALE - Jean Lynch, 92, of LaVale passed away on February 14, 2024.

She was born in Cresaptown, MD on August 3, 1931 to John and Sena Hall. Jean graduated from Allegany High School in 1949 and was employed by Celanese as a bicycle mail carrier and key punch operator prior to her marriage to Roger Lynch on May 23, 1953. They share 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Tom Hall; husband Roger Lynch; and son Tim Lynch.

Jean is survived by her brother John Hall; sister Barbara Crossland; longtime companion Judson Collins; daughters Cathy Oaks (Bill), Dinah Lynch (Julie), and Polly Howerton-Lynch (Christine); grandchildren Brian Oaks, Kate Sickles, Evan Planes, Elliana Howerton-Lynch, Jillian Howerton-Lynch, Christopher Lynch, and Jacqueline Lynch; great grandchildren Harlow, Sebastian, Harrison, Ali, and Colton.

Jean was a devoted wife and stay-at-home mom who enjoyed bowling, gardening, playing cards, traveling, camping, and exercise classes during her retirement years.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Frostburg Village Assisted Living for the compassionate care they provided to Jean during her stay.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, February 17, at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD 21502 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by the Reverend Dr. John Reardon.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
