Jenobeba Voncille Hoover, 77, of Ridgeley, WV and orginially of Houston, TX passed away peacefully May 6, 2026 at UPMC Western Maryland.

She was born in Houston on September 12, 1948 to the late Robert and Marion Jones. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheri Pate; and a brother, James Robert Jones.

After high school she started out working at her father's fish market while taking classes for office work. This lead to a career managing the offices for two large equipment rental companies in Houston that specialized in cranes for the oil and gas industry.

Jen enjoyed sewing and loved spending time with her family. Over the years she brought in and provided an excellent home for many rescue dogs.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joseph R. Hoover; her son, John Lee Pate; her friend and sister-in-law, Georgine Garletts.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated.

A graveside service will be held Monday, May 11th beginning at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Cemetery, 14201 Uhl Hwy, Cumberland, MD with Fr. Mark Carter officiating.
