CUMBERLAND – Jerry L. Corley, 80, died on February 24, 2021, at Mountain City Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Frostburg, MD. Jerry went to be with the Lord and his wife as he was surrounded by his son, Gregory Corley, and his brother, Mark Corley. Jerry was an active-duty service member in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1959 and fulfilled his oath of enlistment in 1962. Upon his departure from the U.S. Navy, Jerry met his lifelong partner, Shirley. Jerry and Shirley were married for 58 wonderful years together. He was employed by the CSX Railroad as a laborer for over 30 years. In 2001, Jerry retired from the railroad and concentrated on spending time with his wife and family. Jerry enjoyed going to Charles Town to bet the ponies, attending bluegrass festivals, and taking a ride through the mountains. He loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, cutting wood, and tinkering in the garage. Jerry is survived by his son, Gregory Corley and wife, Vicki, Ellerslie; granddaughter, Melissa McMahan and husband, Jason, Cumberland; great-grandson, Xavier Michaels, Cumberland; great-granddaughter, Emma McMahan, Cumberland; and his brother, Mark Corley and wife, Patti, Cumberland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Corley; father, Harvey "Jack" Corley; mother, Emma Corley; sister, Rosemary Morris; brother, John "Dick" Corley; and brother, Thomas Corley. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Sunday, February 28, 2021, from 1 to 4 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, March 1, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Mudge officiating.
