Jerry Charles Stewart passed away November 25, 2021, at the age of 81, at the Mountain City Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Frostburg, MD, after a long battle with Parkinson's. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy (Powell) Stewart; and his brother, James Stewart. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Penelope (Roberts) Stewart, of Bel Air; daughter, Rebecca (Stewart) and Frank Grimaldi, of Huntsville, AL; son, David Stewart and family Jenny and Miriam Franco, of Pittsburgh, PA; brother, Harold and Jean Stewart, of Clarksburg WV; sister-in-law, Johanna Stewart, of Morgantown, WV; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A resident of Bel Air for the past 30 years, Jerry was the Director of Pharmacy for Memorial Hospital and Western Maryland Health System before retiring in 2007. He served as treasurer of the Bel Air Citizens Committee, was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church and a member of the Cumberland Country Club. Prior to moving to Bel Air, Jerry was Presbyterian University Hospital Director of Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA, where he also served for one term as President of the Pennsylvania Society of Hospital Pharmacists. Jerry was originally from Clarksburg, WV, and graduated from Victory High School in 1957. He was involved in scouting for many years and became an Eagle Scout. He graduated from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and played clarinet in the WVU band. He loved his family, friends, golf, baking bread, a good Scotch, playing the piano, homemade pie, singing in the choir, the Pittsburgh Pirates and never missed a Steeler game. Visitation will occur Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 4:00 - 6:00pm and Thursday December 2, 2021, at 11:00am with service following at noon at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD.
