CUMBERLAND – Jill Anne Shroyer, age 69, of Cumberland, formerly of Bedford, PA, passed away May 27, 2020 at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born August 9, 1950, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Leroy "Pete" and Melda (Nixon) Alderton. Jill was preceded in death by two previous husbands, Eddie Shroyer and David Mock. Jill graduated from Bishop Walsh High School in 1968 (after writing the team fight song) and worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C. From 1981 to 2007 she worked for the Allegany County Health Department in the Addictions program, the career from which she retired as an Office Supervisor. She was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving are her son, Christopher Britton Lowe and his wife, Melissa; step-children, Lesa Bonnost and husband, Richard, and their daughter, Emma; Travis Grams and wife, Venessa, and their two children, David and Tessa; Christy Calhoun and husband, Dean; Justin Mock; brothers, Jan Alderton and wife, Donna, and Jeffrey Alderton and wife, Melinda; four nieces, Linda Steele, Jennifer Krampf, Kristen Derry, Carley Alderton; two great-nephews, Jordan Krampf and Alex Steele; and ex-husband, Robert U. Lowe. Jill was a kind and generous soul and a lover of animals. She had several beloved departed pets, including her cats Annie, Joee, Mama Kitty and Buddy; and dogs Clancy and Molly. Family and friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Thursday, June 25, 2020, from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Services will also be livestreamed, for those not able to attend.
