CUMBERLAND Joan Loretta Kennell, 72, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at the Golden Living Center.Born August 5, 1944, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Richard Appel and Margaret (Manning) Appel.Joan was a graduate of Fort Hill High School. She went on to work as a cashier and sales clerk at Gee Bee's and Value City.Joan leaves behind a daughter, Kathy Kennell, Cumberland; son, Leo Kennell, II, Cumberland; three grandchildren, Raymond Washington, III, Desirae Washington, and James Kennell, all of Cumberland; six great-grandchildren, Ja'zai Washington, A'Doncyia Washington, Zerica Washington, Trinity Hott, Wyett Kennell, and Rayne Kennell; and two special friends, Billy Davis, and Jeannette Fadley.In accordance with her wishes, Joan's body will be cremated.
