In Loving Memory of Johanna "Elaine" Bridges Kamauf
Johanna "Elaine" Bridges Kamauf, 81, of Cumberland, MD, peacefully passed away on February 7, 2024, at Auburn Hill Senior Living. Born on February 1, 1943, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Clayton Bridges and Johanna Charlotte Thomas Bridges and preceded by her loving husband, David R. Kamauf. Elaine is survived by her sister Janice Ogle and brother Gale Bridges.
Elaine's life was marked by her dedication to her community and church family. For numerous years, she served as a typing teacher at Calvary Christian Academy, imparting knowledge and wisdom to countless students. Later, she continued her service as the church secretary at Calvary Baptist Church, where her commitment to God and community shone brightly.
Beyond her professional life, Elaine found joy in baking beautiful cakes, engaging in crafting, clogging, and teaching Sunday school. She took pride in watching her daughters excel in various sports and music and led the widows group at Calvary Bible Church, where she was a devoted member.
Elaine is survived by her four daughters, Julie R. Brown (David), Jennifer R. Kuczynski (Kevin), Jodi R. Kreider (Kevin), and Janelle M. Sands (Greg), along with twelve grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
A viewing to celebrate Elaine's life will be held at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10 am to 12 pm. Following the viewing, a graveside service for the family will take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens at 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be sent to Calvary Christian Academy in honor of Elaine's dedication and love for the school. Gifts may be sent to: CCA, P.O. Box 5154, Cresaptown, MD 21505, or donations may be made via the link below.
