CUMBERLAND – John Floyd Burns, 71, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020, at the Lions Center. Born July 3, 1948, he was the son of the late Charles and Delci Burns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother. John was a graduate of Allegany High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. In Baltimore, he worked as a parts distributor for General Motors. In his spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed attending car shows with his friend, William, especially Corvette shows in Ocean City. John is survived by his friend since ninth grade, William W. Wiland, Cumberland; one brother. Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. is entrusted with final arrangements. John will be interred privately in Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date once the current restrictions have been lifted.
