BALITMORE Joseph Vincent Howser, 25, of Baltimore, Maryland, went to be with the Lord October 7, 2018, at University of Maryland Medical Center Shock Trauma in Baltimore, surrounded by his loving family.Joe was born in Cumberland on November 4, 1992. Joe excelled to his highest potential at anything he set his mind to. Joe was an incredible athlete, brother, co-worker, family member, friend, and student. From an early age he loved playing sports including baseball, basketball, football and soccer. Joe quickly earned the nickname "Lightning Joe" for his blazing speed. Joe concluded his athletic career by playing football at Fort Hill High School where he displayed his tremendous leadership abilities at the quarterback position and incredible strength and toughness at the defensive end position. It would come as no surprise that Joe applied the same hard work and discipline on the field in the classroom. The result was nothing short of extraordinary. Joe was a member of National Honor Society and accepted nothing less than an A and graduated from Fort Hill High School in 2011 with 4.0 GPA. He continued his hard work and success at Frostburg State University where he received a B.S. in Accounting and finished in top of his class in 2015. Joe's speech to his graduating class was Oscar worthy! He earned his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials in 2016, passing all four parts without one failure. He had a promising start to his career and was considered one of the best financial analysts at Capital Funding Group in Baltimore at the time of his death. Joe loved fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, biking along the C & O canal, the Baltimore Orioles, the Baltimore Ravens, fulfilling his duties as the CFO of The Chocolate Milkshake Club (a club that consisted of cousins who tasted and reviewed chocolate milkshakes nationwide), and most of all, spending quality time with his beloved family. Joe was generous, kind and loving to every individual that he met.Adored son of Thomas Howser and Donna (Timko) Howser and brother and best friend to Eric Howser and fianc Janelle Jones. Beloved grandson of Mary Howser and Catherine Timko, preceded in death by his grandfathers, Edward Howser and Arnold Timko. Loving nephew of Edward and Lisa Howser, Mary Harrison, Michael and Trish Howser, Linda and Randy Sherman, Bridget and Tom Alfano, Michael and Paula Timko, Susan Josselyn, Nancy and Bill Courpas, and Brenda and Brian Wingate. He will be missed tremendously by all his family members including his many cousins; Chelsey, Chip, Amanda, Lauren, Logan, Gregory, Dustin, Kimberly, Andrew, Christine, Christopher, Nicholas, Michael, Matthew, Bradley, Brittany, Alex, Connor, Camryn, and Dylan.Family and friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway SW Cresaptown, MD 21502, Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 14923 Winchester Rd SW, Cumberland, MD 21502, Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00am.
