MIDLAND, MD --- Joyce (Cole) Hansford Metts, 65, of Midland, formally of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at UPMC from a battle with cancer.

Born December 27, 1957 in Cumberland, daughter of the late Bernard Cole and Dolores (Lasanti) Cole. She was also preceded in death by mother-in-law Maxine Metts, father-in-law Marvin Metts Sr., and brother-in-law Mike Metts.

She was Methodist by faith. Joyce was a graduate of Fort Hill high school, class of 1975. She worked at Blind Industry.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 4 years, Marvin M. Metts Jr., sons Clyde (Stephine) and Mark Hansford, 4 grandkids, Howard Green, Alyssa (Hansford) Bauer, Edward Hansford, and Shannon Hansford that she loved dearly, brother-in-laws Mark Metts (Judy), Mitchell Metts (Linda), Matthew Metts (Sherry), and Molly Arnold. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. We are sorry to the Hansford family for names that I didn't mention.

There will be no viewings. Per her request, she will be cremated. Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., is entrusted with arrangements.
