Joyce Louise Tuccinardi, 72, of Calabash, NC passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.Joy was born on December 1, 1946 in Cumberland, MD to the late Harold and Louise Holler. She graduated from Allegany High School in 1964, and later Frostburg State University in 1968. At Frostburg, she was a member of the gymnastics team and graduated with a BS in Mathematics.As a teacher, she always cared deeply for students and their success, and went on to obtain her Master's Degree in Guidance Counseling. Joy and her husband moved to CaIabash, NC from Upper Marlboro, MD in 2000. In her retirement she enjoyed reading, gardening, playing golf, and spending time at the beach with family and friends. Joy will always be remembered as showing kindness and compassion to everyone she met.Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband George; daughters, Shawn Borden (husband Mike) of Westerville, OH, and Brooke Garvey of Boulder, CO; brother, Jimmy Holler of Cumberland, MD; sister, Jeanna Lueck (husband Gator) of Ellicott City, MD; grandchildren, Jack and Josh; and many nieces and nephews.A service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD, at 1pm.
