Obituary

CUMBERLAND – Julia A. Sites, 78, of Cumberland, MD, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Allegany Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on October 24, 1945, in Mt. Olive, NC, to Ruby Brogden Pate and Carlyle Franklin Pate.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Sites; her parents; her brothers, Larry Pate and Donald Pate; her sister, Maxine Pate Britt; stepdaughter, Alesia Lee; stepson, Robert Sites, Jr.; granddaughter, Cori Carr; grandson, Clay Lee; nephew, Joseph Brock; niece, Betsy Pate; and her beloved cat, Credence.

Julia is survived by her children, Kermit Sites and wife, Beth, Amy Connell and wife, Lacon, Ruby Burkett and husband, Jason, Joy Carr, LeAnn Parker and husband, Allen; stepdaughter, Michelle Savilisky and husband, Dave; daughter-in-law, Janice Sites; son-in-law, Donny Lee; sister, Nancy Pate; and several grandchildren and great-grandchlidren.

Julia was a nurse for her entire life. She spent that time taking care of patients and making many friends along the way. She retired in 2017 after 50 years of service. She spent the last few years with her family and her two cats, Cubby and Puppy, as well as her dog, Flossy.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care and support they gave Julia during her stay and her last few days. They would like to specially thank the third-floor staff.

Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. is entrusted with arrangements.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and buried at a later date in Pate Family Cemetery in Mt. Olive, NC.
