Obituary

Cumberland – June Ann (McDaniel) House, 94 of Cumberland MD, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Sentara Hospital, Charlottesville, VA. Born June 8, 1932, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Okey McDaniel and Greetha (Teter). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Dewey House, her sister Vera Jean (McDaniel) Bauer and brothers Jackson Dale McDaniel and Okey Allen McDaniel. She also suffered the untimely deaths of her son James Alan House and daughter Jacqueline R Mundy.

June Ann was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She never met a stranger and always extended a helping hand to all in need. Those who knew her, often remarked on her beauty and kindness. Like most loving mothers, whenever you visited you were always met with an array of all of your favorite foods, whether you wanted them or not. She would prepare days in advance for your

visits, be you family or friend. Always had a shopping bag filled to the brim full of items that she would pick up just because she knew you would like them.June Ann loved her children and friends deeply. She cherished holidays, cooking for everyone including the neighbors, British television, poetry, and never allowed a stray cat leave her stoop without a full belly. She was strong, independent, stubborn, caring and generous until the very end.

June Ann is survived by her children; Rose Edwards-Willis (Donald), Lou Ann Cammer (Steve), and Thomas Edward House Sr. As well as her grandchildren: April Dawn Budrecki, Jessica Cammer Snow (Jason), Thomas Edward House Jr (Stephanie), and Jeremy Alan House; as well as ten great grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Sondra McDaniel Smith (Terrence), and Mary Lou Raley her long-time, loving, and faithful friend of over 80 years.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Peace Healthcare at Lions Center in Cumberland, MD, Green Acres Rehabilitation Center, Sentara Hospital in Charlottesville, VA, and Scarpelli Funeral Home for the care and compassion shown to her while in their care.
