Kathy B. McMechen Caldwell, 77, of Cumberland, MD and formerly of Darlington, MD passed away October 13, 2024 at the Cumberland Healthcare Center.

She was born December 22, 1946 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Dr. Charles and Ruth (Salmons) McMechen. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Hock.

She had a great love for her family. Enjoyed spending time with them. Avid reader, appreciated music, and bargain shopping.

Surviving are her sons, C. Michael Caldwell, Andrew Caldwell and wife Gabrielle, Robert Caldwell, and Jonathan Caldwell and wife Leslie; grandchildren, Cassandra, Erin, Ben, Dylan, Ethan, Kamryn, C.J.; a sister, Susan Spencer; her many friends and an extended family.

Many thanks to all the caregivers, caretakers, and facilities that blessed her life. Having struggled with mental health issues these people played valuable role in her life. We are so grateful for those who touched and cared for her.

Kathy was cremated and inurnment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9th with her parents and sister at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, 4987 Fairmont Pike Road, Wheeling, WV.
