Laraine Adaline (Wilson) Bennett, 83, passed away at her home on August 30, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 31, 1942 in Cumberland, MD to the late Kenneth and Dessie G. (Bonner) Wilson. In addition to her parents, Laraine is preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Kenneth "Dink" Wilson (Joan) and Patricia O'Baker (George "Tim"); brother in laws, Paul Moyer and Danny Bovey; and nephew Kenny Wilson.

Laraine was a proud 1960 graduate of Fort Hill High School. She worked for many years as a lunch lady at Washington Middle School, before moving onto a 25 year career as a Dietary Cook for Memorial Hospital, from which she retired. After retirement, Laraine continued caring for others by volunteering for 16 years with UPMC Hospice, a cause that was near to her heart. Laraine, was a member of the former Davis United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She continued having lunches and dinners for many years with her former Fort Hill High School classmates. She especially enjoyed attending Cash Bashes, gardening, swinging on her porch and watching the hummingbirds, but above all else, loved watching her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Laraine was a member of the Good Fellowship Club and Cresaptown Eagles.

Laraine is survived by her children; Howard D. Bennett (Taryn), LaDonna Hoeller (Bob) , Rhonda Pryor (Greg) , and June L. Kastner (Michael); sisters, Darlene Moyer and Charlene "Sis" Bovey; grandchildren, Robert Hoeller (Brittany), Nathaniel Hoeller (Rachel), Greg Geiger (Blessed), Brooke Bunner, Lyle Bennett (Chelsey), Aja Alberti (Anthony), Trey Bennett (Katie), Zachary Kastner (Marlee), Leslie Pryor, Brianna Pryor, Justine Pryor, Sami Hoeller, Avyana Kastner and special granddaughters, Rachelle Eversole and Jenna Bennett; numerous great grandchildren, Emily, Ashlyn, Cameron, Karter, Gavin, Rowan, Aiden, Isaiah, Arabella, Marlee, Abigail, Vivian, Raelynn, Jarvis and Judah; and 1 great-great grandson that is due to make his arrival in March; she is also survived by special friends, Crystal and Carol.

The family would like to give special thanks to the UPMC Intensive Care Unit Team, the Hospice Team, and the Hospice Pastors for the wonderful care that was given to our mother.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September, 3rd from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm at Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD 21502. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Rob Pierson will begin at 1:00 pm and interment will be held at a later date.
