SHORT GAP, WV – Lenora "Jinny" Turner, 88, of Short Gap, WV, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at Dawn View Center.

Born September 18, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd L. Umstot and Ethel (Llewelyn) Umstot. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chester Turner; sister-in-law, Becky McPherson and husband, Bob; brother, Gary Umstot; sister, Donna King; and nephew, Tommy Umstot.

Surviving is her stepson, Chet Turner; brother, Roger Umstot and wife, Wanda; two sisters, Wanda Malone, Sharon Pyles and husband, Dale; special cousin, Carol Walker, who visited her often; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jinny loved her family and her special cat, Missy. She was a loving sister and will be missed greatly.

The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Laura, Kay, and Shirley, who stood by her side faithfully; and Jinny's special friends at Dawn View Center, Brenda, Dottie, and Pam.

A graveside service will be held at Fort Ashby Cemetery on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 12pm with Pastor Scott Knowlton officiating.
