CUMBERLAND – Leona Margaret (Michaels) Crowe, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Peace Healthcare at Lions Center.

Born in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Francis J. and Mary Amanda (Donahoe) Michaels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, John Edward Crowe; siblings Bernice Growden (Bill), Francis 'Jake' Michaels, Leo G. Michaels; and brother-in-law, Thomas Sweitzer.

She is survived by siblings Wanda Sweitzer, Victor R. Michaels (Dottie), Fay Shelton (Richard); sister-in-law, Lauretta Michaels; brother-in-law, Paul Crowe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leona was a graduate of Allegany High School and retired from the Greyhound Profit Foods Company at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company.

In accordance with her wishes, Leona will be cremated.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 201 N Centre St, Cumberland, MD, on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11am.

Inurnment in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, will be private. Donations made in her memory can be directed to your favorite charity.
