CUMBERLAND Leroy James Aronhalt, 88, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Goodwill Retirement Community, Grantsville, Md.Born November 2, 1927 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late William F. and Viola (Lathrum) Aronhalt. He is also preceded in death by one sister, Frances Aronhalt Marotte, and one brother, Bernard Aronhalt.Leroy attended Penn Avenue School, and was a1945 graduate of Fort Hill High School. He also served in the United States Army in Germany from 1946 to1947. Leroy was an active member of Saint John's Lutheran Church. He retired in 1987 from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company. After his retirement, he did volunteer work at the Interfaith Community Pantry.Surviving Leroy are his wife, Mary Helen (Miller) Aronhalt; one daughter, Diane Ramsburg and husband John; granddaughter Ruth Ramsburg; granddaughter Hannah Gialluca and her husband Jay; one brother, Edwin Aronhalt and wife Kay; six nieces; and nine grand-nephews and nieces.Pallbearers will be: George Brown, Jacob Davis, Dean Georg, Jay Gialluca, Kurt Helmick, Sean Santmyire, Jerry Sechler, and Robert Younkin.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Sunday, August 7 from 2 to 4 p.m.Funeral services will be conducted following the visitation with Reverend Mark Dill officiating.Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.Memorial contributions may be made to the Interfaith Community Pantry, 301 Cumberland St, Cumberland, MD 21502, or to the Maryland Library for the Blind, 415 Park Ave, Baltimore, MD 21201.Condolences for the family may be left at www.ScarpelliFH.com
