Obituary

Lewis Aldridge Metz Jr., 88, of Cumberland, Maryland, passed away peacefully at Devlin Manor on Thursday, February 29, 2024, surrounded by his wife and family.

Lew graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1953. He was employed as a tire manufacturer at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company for twenty-four years. Lew enjoyed the outdoors. He and his wife enjoyed spending time with family down on the Cacapon and Potomac Rivers. A favorite past time was traveling across the country sightseeing national and historic landmarks. permanent fixture on the front porch monitoring the pulse of Humbird Street and South End. Lew continues to serve as a role model to his family as to what it means to live a full life. Lew was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend. The family would like to take the opportunity to thank those who provided professional medical care over the past several months at the Kensington, Western Maryland Health System, and Devlin Manor.

He leaves behind his children, son, Bruce Metz and wife Lauren, Robert Metz and wife Sheila, Sheila Cecil and husband Martin, Brian Metz and wife Coushatta, and Aaron Keech and wife Jenny.
