Linda Jane
Santmyire
Jan 22, 1950 — Nov 6, 2023
Linda Jane Santmyire, 73, of Wiley Ford, WV died peacefully at UPMC Western Maryland on November 6, 2023.
She was born in Cumberland on January 22, 1950, to the late James and Elma Fletcher. In addition to her parents, Linda was proceeded in death by her stepmother, Dolores Fletcher and a brother, George Sirbaugh.
Linda loved to share God's love in every area of her life. She was a Sunday school teacher, missionettes leader, women's ministry leader and a licensed minister with the Assembly of God Church. Linda took to heart the Bible verse that says, "Whatever you do, do it with all your heart as unto the Lord." She knew her inheritance would be in heaven as her reward. Where she saw a need, she was the first to jump in and catapult others into action. She did everything with excellence.
Vocationally, she worked as an accountant, Home Interior salesperson, and Registered Nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was the founder of the Western Maryland Parish Nurse Program which motivated nurses to serve their church at over 55 churches. Linda had a green thumb and growing flowers was her hobby and passion.
When Linda was asked how she wanted to be remembered she said, "I loved life and my family. God has been good to me and faithful in every area."
Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Crable Lee Santmyire; their three children, Beth Rosenberger and husband David, Aaron Santmyire and wife Heather, and Carissa Santmyire. Linda was a wonderful mother and mimi. She loved her five grandchildren, Isabelle, Josiah, Lily, Zechariah and Ella. She is also survived by her brother Michael Fletcher and his wife Pam of Bowling Green, her brother Bryan Fletcher and his wife Melinda of Hanover MD, and sister-in-law Paulette Sirbaugh of North Carolina. She is also survived by a large extended family including many nieces and nephews. Her niece Jennifer Nave was a constant help to her and kept Linda's fishpond pristine.
