Midland, VA - Madeline Ruth (Rector) Clark, 101, of Midland, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at her granddaughter and husbands home with her daughter and family by her side.
Born August 31, 1922, in Roxberry, MD, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Vergie (Vantz) Rector. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marvin H. "Son" Clark; son, Gary L. Clark, Sr.; son-in-law, Joseph P. Haselberger, Jr.; sisters, Marie Hoopengardner and Wanda House; brother, William Rector.
Maddy is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Warrenton, VA, was a Member of the Church Sodality, Member of the Martha's Group, and the Church Cleaning Group of the church, a recipient of The Baltimore Archdiocese Medal of Honor, and Life Member of the Henry Hart VFW Post 1411 Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Jo Haselberger, Midland, VA; daughter-in-law Frances Clark; grandchildren, Gary Lynn Clark, Jr. and wife Melissa, Michael T. Clark and wife JoAnne, Anita J. Willett and husband Jeffrey, and Joseph P. Haselberger, III; great-grandchildren, Madlyn Clark, Heather Clark, Katherine Roper and husband Steven, Jakob Willett, and Jenna Rose Haselberger; great-great-grandsons, Matix Winchester; Malakai Brown, and great-great-granddaughter Emmeline Leigh Roper; as well as several special nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 300 E Oldtown Road, Cumberland.
Inurnment will be in MD State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap.
"Maddy", never met a stranger and liked everyone she met. She will be Greatly Missed by her family and her very good friends in Cumberland.
