Cumberland – Mark Edward Carder, 68, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024 at his home.

Born December 18, 1955, in Quantico, Virginia, he was the son of the late George Edward and Irene (Schwonek) Carder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandmother, Elsie Neild, and his special dog Lady.

Mark was graduate of Anne Arundel High School in Annapolis, Maryland. Following High School, he was employed as a Space Craft's Systems Engineer at NASA Goddard Space Center.

Mark enjoyed collecting antiques especially Queen City Brewery, Queen City Hotel, Western Maryland Railroad and Old German Beer memorabilia. Mark also enjoyed studding the ancestry of the Carder family. He was a Dallas Cowboy's Football fan.

Mark is survived by his brother, Stanton "Stan" Carder; niece, Theresa Ann Brown (Wesley); great-niece, Bridget Nicole Brown; and several cousins.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. At his request, Mark will be cremated and a memorial service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m.
