Mary E. Decker, 87, of Cumberland passed away June 28, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland.

She was born June 24, 1937, in Cumberland, to the late Carter and Evelyn (Bennett) Galliher. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jim Decker.

She graduated from Fort Hill High School and married her sweetheart shortly after graduation. Mary worked as a nurses aide at local nursing home, and most of her career was at the Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD. She had a quiet, simple life, but she loved to travel in retirement.

Surviving is her son, James R. Decker and fiancée Pam Flanigan; a daughter, Bonna Marmon and husband Charles; grandchildren, Allyson Decker, Ashlea Decker, and Mollie Shultz and her husband; several great-grandchildren; and an extended family.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2nd at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland.

A funeral will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd at the funeral home, followed by burial with her husband at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
