Obituary

Mount Savage - Mary Edith "Terry" (Maley) Dominick, age 88 of Mount Savage, Maryland went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland hospital.

Born in Mount Savage on October 30, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Frances Maley and Leona Elizabeth (McKenzie) Maley. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Leonard Anthony Dominick, her partner Richard Carl Burkhart and granddaughter Emma Kathleen Ruff, daughter of Lori and John Ruff.

Mary Edith was an avid bowler, participating in leagues for many years at White Oak Lanes. She enjoyed being at the river and the beach with family and friends. Her hobbies were making stained glass pieces and bird watching. Her greatest joy was making memories with her family. She was a loving spouse/partner, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. She was a member of the Mount Savage Lions Club.

Mary Edith worked as a secretary for the Navy in Washington, D.C. in her youth. After marrying, she worked as a department manager in several retail stores in Altoona, PA, North Carolina, and Cumberland, MD. She co-owned and operated several furniture and appliance stores in the Cumberland area. She also worked in the office at Lighthouse Christian Daycare for several years. She devotedly cared for her mother through a long terminal illness.

Surviving are her daughters Theresa (Dominick) Ludwick and spouse Roger Ludwick (Cumberland), Elaine (Dominick) Weaverling and spouse Larry Weaverling (Port Orange, FL), and Lori (Dominick) Ruff and spouse John Ruff (Short Gap, WV); grandchildren Tammy (Weaverling) Belus and spouse Mike Belus, Becky (Weaverling) Vargo and spouse Shawn Vargo, Christopher Lee Weaverling and partner Krystina Baxter, Ethan Pierce Ludwick and spouse Tierney Ludwick, Micah James Ludwick and spouse Katie Ludwick, Sara Elizabeth Ruff and Kylah Rose Ruff; and great-grandchildren Alexi Belus-Faller and spouse Cameron Faller, Xander Weaverling, Scarlett Weaverling, and Leon Ludwick; and extended family including Sheri Severn, Rick and Angie Burkhart, Bobby Burkhart, Karl and Abby Burkhart.

Family and Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD, Monday, April 22, from 11am - 1 pm with a service at 1 pm, with Pastor Douglas Seaman officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.
