Mary V. (Kienstra) Glick, known as Jean to her friends, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024 at the age of 98.

Born to William and Mary Teresa (Mooney) Kienstra in Wood River, IL, she lived in Glen Mills, PA for 24 years, previously living in Shawnee Mission, KS and Metuchen, NJ before recently relocating to Santa Fe. The oldest of five children, she graduated from Wood River High School and attended Webster College in Webster Groves, MO for 2 years before returning home to help with the family business. While working as an accountant in St. Louis, she met her future husband, John, on a blind date, and was married in 1954. In addition to being the proud mother of five children, she loved to travel and play bridge. She was very active in the University of Kansas Medical Center Auxiliary where she held positions of Treasurer and President. She was also a member of the St. Agnes Altar Rosary Society. Jean and John were members of the Holy Child Catholic Parish in Wilmington, DE.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Glick, a sister, Rita Mahassek, and a brother, William Kienstra. She is survived by her children, Mary (Chris) Depner of Wellsville, NY, Barbara Hyatt of Catawba, NC, John (Eileen) Glick of San Diego, CA, Bill (Monica) Glick of Lancaster, PA & Carolyn Glick (David Harradine) of Santa Fe, NM, a sister, Sister Margaret Kienstra of Grand Rapids, Michigan, a brother, Gerald Kienstra of Edwardsville, IL, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous granddogs.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, October 18th beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Shrine of SS. Peter and Paul, 125 Fayette Street, Cumberland, MD, with Fr. Mark Carter officiating.

Inurnment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Cumberland with her husband.
