Mary Catherine "Mary K" Hansel, 95, of Cumberland, died Monday, June 25, 2018, at the home of her son in Heath, Texas.Born December 22, 1922, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Murray L. and Pearl (Hannas) Miller. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Donna Kay O'Neal; her second husband, Robert Hansel; brother, Omer Miller; and her former husband, Charles O'Neal.Mary K graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1940. Following high school, she was manager of the Ormond Shop in downtown Cumberland; an employee of Celanese; and a sales representative for Diana Deering Cosmetics. Her final career, from which she retired, was that of lab technician at Memorial Hospital. She was a long-time member of Frist Christian Church, Cumberland, and had been active in the Cumberland Outdoor Club, the Goodfellowship Club, Cumberland Democratic Club, the Eagles, Elks, and Moose. Dancing, bowling, and travel (especially her trips to Texas) were activities that she had really enjoyed. She loved the dogs in her life, and had a special place in her heart for all animals.Mary K is survived by her son, Gary O'Neal and wife, Ann, of Heath, TX; and niece and nephew, Bonnie Koelle and Todd Miller, both of Shelby, NC.Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m.Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, July 2, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rae Browning officiating.Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory be made to the Special Music Fund at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 9999 Ferguson Road, Dallas, TX, 75228; the Christian Church Disciples of Christ "All Saints Fund", 1402 Washington Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26101; Christian Church Disciples of Christ Legacy % P.O.
