FROSTBURG Mary M. Olsen, 87, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Western Maryland Medical Center, following a brief illness.Mary was born on August 14, 1931, in Mammoth, Utah, to the late Earl L. McIntyre and Maude Boone McIntyre. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, L. Lynn Olsen; her son, Gregory James Olsen; brothers, Steele, Howard, and James McIntyre; and granddaughter, Kelly Jean Olsen.Mary graduated from Tintic High School in 1949. She then attended the University of Utah, where she played the French horn in the Utes Marching Band. She married L. Lynn Olsen. Their adventure took her from Utah to New Mexico and back, and then across the country where they settled in Maryland. They raised their family in Frostburg where they resided for more than 55 years.Mary was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in a variety of capacities, including Seminary Teacher and Relief Society President. Mary had a love for reading, and enjoyed baking and bird watching. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Mary is survived by two sons, Jeff Olsen and wife Patty of Crofton, MD, and Randy Olsen and wife Sherie of LaVale, MD; one daughter, Stephanie Olsen and husband Brad DeBerg of Kaysville, UT; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Richard Olsen and wife Judy of Ogden, UT.Friends and family will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway SW, Cresaptown, MD, on Friday, May 24, 2019, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M.Funeral services will be conducted at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 12205 Gramlich Road, LaVale, MD, on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 12:00 noon.
