Cumberland, MD - Mary Catherine "Cathy" Stewart, 68, of Cumberland passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at UPMC-Western Maryland hospital.

Born January 4, 1956, she was the daughter of Kenneth L. Bowman, Sr. and Mary Catherine (Lechliter) Bowman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James G. Stewart, and her brother Kenneth L. Bowman, Jr.

Mary was a graduate of Fort Hill High School. She had a long career at McDonald's making a lot of friends. She loved all animals, especially her dogs. More than anything she enjoyed being a homemaker and talking care of her family.

Surviving is her daughter, Judith Stewart, and her two very special godsons, who meant the world to her, Cody Dawson and Brenden Holcomb.

Per her wishes there are no services.

In honor of her memory, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
