Mary Elsa Welsh, 90, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Born February 22, 1933 in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late George Walter Huff and Mary Cecelia (Hammersmith) Huff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lee Welsh, as well as all 7 of her brothers and sisters and her beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Chloe.

Mary was a 1952 graduate of Fort Hill High School.

She retired after 25 years of dedicated service from Memorial Hospital in Cumberland.

Mary loved flowers and enjoyed planting flowers and having her own garden around her home. Anyone who knew Mary knew that she was selfless and treated everyone with kindness and love. She truly had one of the most beautiful souls of anyone you would meet.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Linda Lee Lippold and husband Donald (Cumberland) and a granddaughter, Kristina Lynn Poland and husband Richard (Cumberland), as well as her cats and a dog. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Diane White. She is also survived by two very special friends and neighbors, Gary and Kevin McKenzie. Special thank you to Brenda White for all of her love and support during this difficult time.
