Fort Ashby, WV – Mary Virginia Wilburn, 94, of Fort Ashby, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Dawn View Nursing Home.

Born May 15, 1929 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Fanny May (Robey) Gross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husbands, Armond L. Beeman and Robert C. Wilburn; son, Richard Beeman; daughter-in-law, Marie Elizabeth (Clites) Beeman; brothers, Charles, Denton, and Franklin Gross; sisters, Mildred, Annie, and Evelyn; and sister-in-law, Kitty Gross.

Mary attended Fort Hill High School. She was employed at Woolworth Department Store, but before everything she was a mother, wife, and homemaker.

Mary was a member of the South Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mary is survived by her son, Robert Wayne Beeman (Linda J), Ft. Ashby, WV; grandson; Carl R. Beeman, Hagerstown; brother, Robert Gross; and sister, Helen Case; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; step-grandchildren, Bryan Raley and wife, Pam, and Christine Troutman and husband, Randy; step-greatgrandchildren, Caitlyn Cook, Jacob and Devin Bunner, Karissa Raley, Dustin Hartman and wife, Laura; and six step-great greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Steve Nelson officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
